Summary of academic interest:
Dr. Jacobson studies risk factors for gastroesophageal reflux disease and Barrett’s esophagus. His research funding is through the NIH’s National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Dr. Jacobson is currently Chair of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy’s Health and Public Policy Committee. He is an Associate Editor of the journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is on the editorial board of the journal Digestive Diseases and Science. He also serves on the Graduate Training Examination subcommittee of the American Gastroenterology Association.
