Please submit your nominations at <a href="../../facdev-medicine/awards/submit-a-nomination/" target="_blank">this link</a> by Friday, June 24, 2011.</p>
<p>The Awards Committee collects supporting materials over the summer  and then meets each fall to make its selections. The Awards Committee is  not obligated to select an awardee nor is it limited to a single  awardee.</p>
<p>Winners receive recognition at the Evans Days dinner at the end of  the year. Nominees remain active for 3 years from their original  nomination.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The program aims to accelerate needed reforms in health professions  education to accommodate the dramatic changes occurring in medical  practice and health care delivery.</p>
<p>Each Scholar will receive salary support at $100,000  per year over two years.  Scholars must be nominated by the Dean of  their institutions, who must commit to protecting at least 50 percent of  the Scholars’ time to pursue education reform projects at their  institution.</p>
<p>The Foundation is looking for faculty who are committed to careers in  health professional education, have served for more than five years on  the faculty of the sponsoring school, are innovators, and have shown  promise as future leaders.</p>

<p>The National Science Foundation (NSF) is pleased to accept nominations for the 2011 Alan T. Waterman Award. Each year, the Foundation bestows the Waterman Award in recognition of talent, creativity, and influence of a singular young researcher. Established in 1975 to commemorate the Foundation&#8217;s first Director, the Waterman Award is NSF&#8217;s highest honor for researchers under the age of 36.</p>
<p>Nominees are accepted from any field of science or engineering that NSF supports. The award recipient will receive a medal and an invitation to the formal awards ceremony in Washington, DC. In addition, the recipient will receive a grant of $500,000 over a three-year period for scientific research or advanced study in any field of science or engineering supported by the National Science Foundation, at any institution of the recipient&#8217;s choice.</p>
<p><strong> Eligibility and Selection Criteria</strong></p>
<p>*  Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  They must be 35 years of age or younger or not more than 7 years beyond receipt of the Ph.D. degree by December 31 of the year in which they are nominated.</p>
<p>*  Candidates should have demonstrated exceptional individual achievements in scientific or engineering research of sufficient quality to place them at the forefront of their peers. Criteria include originality, innovation, and significant impact on the field.</p>
