Salaries and Benefits
  Benefits

Salary and benefits are competitive with other fellowship programs in General Internal Medicine and subspecialties. Benefits include insurance, retirement investment options, vacation/leave time (including maternity leave), subsidized parking, and educational allowances. Insurance coverage includes following:

• Medical • HIV
• Dental • Malpractice
• Life • Disability

Salary and benefits will vary slightly depending on whether the fellow is funded by the Department of Veteran Affairs or the Boston Medical Center (BMC). First year fellows are typically paid at the PGY4 level, which in 2004 was $51,055. Salaries may vary if a fellow has more training or work experience in addition to the three years of residency in an ACGME accredited residency.

Tuition for the School of Public Health is provided without charge to the fellows. Other support for the fellows includes office space; access to word processing, database and statistical software; and statistical and other methodological consultation.
