Kelly J Bergeron, MHA, BSRT (R) (MR)
As the manager of the MRI Department at Boston Medical Center, I oversee safety and image quality as well as the training of new staff members as part of my responsibilities. Several years ago, in conjunction with the Organizational Effectiveness Department, I developed and created a training program designed to prepare technologists currently working in the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Boston Medical Center to sit for and successfully pass the ARRT advanced registry exam in MRI, CT, Mammography, or Interventional Radiography. I have been able to guide 3 technologists to that goal, and they continue to work in their chosen modalities here in the Radiology Department.
My teaching responsibilities for the Bioimaging program at BUSM will include implementation of my training program and oversight of its completion by each participating student at BMC. I will also be responsible for insuring that the staff technologists providing training to the Bioimaging students are doing so according to the established guidelines, and that all components of the program are completed and requirements met. I will assist students in obtaining supplementary training tools for registry exam preparation. Finally, I will be responsible for maintaining the clinical education program’s accreditation status with the ARRT by providing required updates and/or documentation.
