Configure PPTP VPN- Windows 7

To Configure PPTP VPN in Windows 7

  1. Click on the Start menu
  2. In the box that says “Search programs and files,” type VPN
  3. Click on Set up a virtual private network (VPN) connection
  4. In “Create a VPN connection, type the following information:
    Internet Address: work.bumc.bu.edu
    Destination Name: BUMC PPTP VPN
  5. Click Next
  6. Enter your BU username and Kerberos password. The Domain is “AD”
  7. Click Connect
  8. A connection attempt will be made to verify your username and password. If successful, you will see a screen that says “The connection is ready for use.”
  9. Click Close

To Connect to PPTP VPN in Windows 7

  1. Click on the Network Connection icon in the task bar (near to the clock)
  2. Select BUMC PPTP VPN under the “Dial-up and VPN menu”
  3. Click Connect
  4. Enter your BU login name and Kerberos password if prompted. The Domain is “AD”
  5. Click Connect
  6. You should be connected in a few seconds.
