BUMC IT is pleased to offer several methods to enable access to work and resources when at home, traveling or otherwise away from your BU computer. Depending on your needs, two or more of the services below may be used together for best results.

Exchange Webmail Users of the BU Exchange mail and calendaring service at BU can access mail, appointments, to do items and more securely from any computer with an Internet connection.

VPN To gain access to campus resources from off-site, IS&T and BUMC IT provide Virtual Private Network (VPN) services

Mobile Devices BUMC IT supports synchronization of mail, contacts and appointments with most major smartphone platforms including Blackberry, Android and iPhone.

TSWEB BUMC IT uses Terminal Services to provide a “virtual desktop” accessible over the Internet from most PCs and Macs. TSWEB provides access to the full Office 2003 Suite including Outlook configured for your Exchange account, as well as access to the Y drive.

Using the Y Drive at Home Existing Y drive accounts can be connected to your home computer with the help of the BU VPN connection. Personal, Department, BUMC Projects and Grants.gov can all be accessed.
