BUMC IT Welcomes Yoal Peguero

Yoal Peguero joined BUMC IT in January as our newest Client Support Specialist. Yoal graduated from BU in 2013 earning his BS in Health Science with a minor in Public Health. While a student at BU he worked in CAS IT as a computer assistant. Our colleagues at CAS IT spoke highly of Yoal and his work. Yoal worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in alumni communications where, among other things, he oversaw their website. Most recently, he worked down the street at Boston Public Health Commission as a program coordinator.

Yoal fills the position vacated by Lloyd Rolles who was promoted to Computer Support Specialist. Lloyd filled the position vacated by James Lau who is now a Systems Application Administrator.

Welcome, Scott Wilson!

BUMC IT Client Services is proud to welcome Scott Wilson starting as a Computer Support Specialist today.  Scott graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a BS in Computer Networking in 2012 and recently worked for TMNG Global as a Network and Desktop Support Specialist.  Scott brings extensive Windows and Mac experience to our team.

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our Service Desk Team, Lloyd Rolles.  Lloyd graduated BU this May with a BS in Health Sciences from Sargent College.  He was most recently working as a casual employee splitting his time between Student Health Services and the IT Help Center where he supported faculty, staff, and students on both the academic and clinical sides.  He brings not only troubleshooting knowledge but also knowledge of BU systems as well as experience in the Service Now ticketing system.

Welcome Myriam Bikah

Myriam Bikah joins BUMC IT today in the position of BI Developer II.  Myriam joins BU after spending the past 5 years with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) in Washington, D.C., as a Data and Research Associate. There she helped colleges understand student achievement measures and trends, in part by developing MicroStrategy dashboards and OLAP reports, creating data dictionaries and training videos. Prior to the AACC, Myriam worked at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Heath Care Analyst, translating healthcare performance measures into SAS specifications, and performing extensive statistical analyses of healthcare data. She holds an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and a BS in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte. Her thesis work involved the design of a user-centered, portable, ergonomic, real-time, solid-state neutron detection device for Homeland Security applications (related work here). She’s as fluent in calculus as she is in French.  Myriam is new not just to BU, but also to the city of Boston.  Welcome, Myriam!

Welcome Kousalya Jagadisan

Please join us in welcoming Kousalya Jagadisan, Application Developer II, as the newest member of BUMC IT Application Services.  Kousalya joins us most recently from EzeCastle Software, where she worked on an options trading ticket interface using C# & TFS, among other projects. She received her M.S. in Computer Science from Bridgewater State College, where she also tutored undergrads on Calculus and C++, and worked with faculty on Blackboard, FrontPage and MS Office. She also has a Masters of Computer Application and B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Madras, in India. We’re very excited to have her on the team.

Welcome (back) Brian Gerdon!

Please join us in welcoming back Brian Gerdon to the BUMC IT team. Brian started off as a student employee years ago.  When he graduated BU he worked as a full time staff member in the networking group under Graham Ward.  Brian receved several promotions in his time at BU eventually becoming the Manager of Networking Engineering and Operations at BUMC.  Brian left BU to become the IT Director for a local startup.  Brian returns to BU in his new role serving as the BUMC IT Security Officer.  Brian will become the point person for all things security at BUMC.  He will work closely with his CRC associates to maintain a unified, one BU attitude while acknowledging some of the uniqueness of BUMC.

Welcome, Eran!

Earlier this month Eran Spira joined our team at BUMC IT as Client Support Specialist.

Eran was a student employee at Berklee Student Computer Support Center where he provided Level 1 & 2 support on a wide variety of issues on Apple devices. Prior to that he worked for several years at BUG MultiSystem, the largest retail chain in Israel of computer and IT products. While at the company he performed a variety of tasks including hardware and software troubleshooting, repair, and installation for a predominantly PC user base and was later promoted to branch manager.

He is enrolled at Berklee College of Music studying contemporary writing and production. Eran hopes to complete his BA this May. Give him a call at the Service Desk and say hi!

Welcome, Zoë!

BUMC IT Client Services is proud to welcome Zoë Hayden as our new Computer Support Specialist. Zoë is a recent Emerson College graduate with a BFA in writing, literature and publishing. While at Emerson, Zoë worked at the Emerson IT Help Desk as Student Manager, assisting faculty, staff, and students with a wide range of IT issues and more recently as a Support Specialist for lab operations at Emerson, working on imaging and supporting all classrooms and computer lab machines.

In addition Zoë is a huge hockey fan and passionately writes about her favorite hockey team the Pittsburgh Penguins on a blog called Puck Huffers. Lets hope she adopts the BU Terriers as her new favorite College Hockey team with no NHL hockey currently!

Welcome, Ryan!

We are please to announce that Ryan Turcotte  joined the Client Services team as our newest Computer Support Specialist on Monday, October 22nd, 2012.  Ryan is a '10 graduate of Amherst College where he received his B.A in Computer Science. During his undergrad days Ryan was a student worker in the Amherst Desktop Computing Services area where he perfected his IT support skills.  After graduation Ryan was awarded a position as the Kermes Technology Fellow, allowing him to work for Amherst College Desktop Services full time for the last two years. While not fixing and repairing computers, Ryan likes to play guitar and is a huge  "car enthusiast."  Please join us in welcoming Ryan to BUMC IT and to Boston University.

Welcome, Alex!

We are pleased to announce that Alexander Kindzerske has accepted the position of Computer Support Specialist and joined BUMC IT on Monday May 21, 2012.

Alex comes to us from the Apple Store in the South Shore Plaza where he worked as an Apple Genius where he was certified to repair all types of Apple products. Prior to that Alex worked as a Student Support Consultant while studying at Berklee College of Music.  Alex majored in both Contemporary Writing and Production as well as Music Production and Engineering.  He continues to be active in music production.  Please join us in welcoming Alex to BUMC IT and to Boston University.
