Medical Educator Pathway

MoakleyThe Medical Educator Pathway is designed to provide an understanding of the responsibilities of a clinician-educator in academic medicine and will prepare residents with the appropriate skills to succeed.

Residents in this pathway will be able to give more effective lectures, facilitate case-based small group discussions, provide effective feedback, teach the elements of clinical reasoning, develop and implement a research project in medical education and create an educational portfolio to assist in career development.

Components of the Pathway consists of the following but is not limited to; key readings in Medical Education, Monthly Journal Clubs/seminars on Education topics, observation of Clinician-Educators (lectures, attending rounds, small group discussions, bedside teaching), and workshops to learn and practice teaching techniques during ambulatory block.
