The Section of Infectious Diseases & COVID-19 Response
The Section of Infectious Diseases (ID) represents a dynamic and collaborative research group with demonstrated strengths in both basic and clinical research in areas such as bacterial pathogenesis, HIV, parasitology, host-pathogen interactions, vaccines, and innate immunity. Faculty contact information and research and clinical programs can be found at this web site. Faculty within ID actively participate and provide leadership in several training programs including an ID Fellowship program and Graduate Programs in Molecular Medicine, Microbiology, Immunology Training Program and Cell Molecular Biology. The section sponsors regular microbiology / infectious diseases seminars, immunology seminars and AIDS conferences. Furthermore, there are regular ID data/journal clubs and faculty research conferences. This interactive and multidiscipline research environment has positioned the Section of ID at Boston University as a recognized leader in infectious disease research.
