Congratulations Graduates!
Masters Students Celebrate their Accomplishments!
For a brief period (approximately 1-2 weeks) during the summer, incoming TTPAS Fellows (and other interested PhD students) participate in an immersion experience focusing on fundamental concepts of population and biomedical sciences (e.g., epidemiology, genetics, psychology, neuroscience, pharmacology).
Boot Camp provides a basis from which to develop core competencies and tailor additional course work consistent with the individual development plan. Fellows work in teams to solve problems and engage in exercises that involve critical thinking. This approach not only provides a didactic framework, introduces core concepts and the “vocabulary” of each discipline, but also stresses the importance of participating in Team Science that is at the heart of interdisciplinary work. In addition to academic elements, there are panel discussions on the practical aspects of working in the addictions field.
