Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences

The B.S. in Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences (BLCS) is offered by Metropolitan College in collaboration with Boston University School of Medicine. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences is the only undergraduate degree offered on the medical campus that prepares students for jobs and careers in the fields of biotechnology and clinical research. Boston is one of the world’s preeminent biomedical centers; the rapid pace of innovation in these industries and the high demand for trained professionals ensures continual growth, and means a broad range of exciting opportunities at the forefront of life sciences research.

Courses are available in the areas of biomedical research, clinical research, bioinformatics, biotechnology (manufacturing or bioprocessing), and DNA analysis (cytogenetics or forensic science).

Undergraduate certificate programs in clinical research and biotechnology are also available.

BioScience Academy (BSA) is a program that offers biotechnology laboratory skills training, twelve Boston University credits, tuition support, an internship, and a Certificate in Applied Biotechnology. If you are unemployed and have a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM), with work experience in a STEM field, please consider this  day program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. Please visit bu.edu/BioSci for more information. BSA is part of the larger SCILS Initiative.

The BLCS program offers the B.S. degree (128 credits) and 16-credit Certificates in Biotechnology and Clinical Research. The programs are highly flexibly, offering classes in the evening and Saturday morning. Many scholarships are available through MET College.
