Fall 2017 Orientation

Welcome to the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) at the Boston University School of Medicine. We look forward to assisting you in the fall and throughout your course of study here.

Orientation for all GMS programs will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Boston University Medical Campus. Please take a few moments to review all the below information and attachments prior to Orientation.

Check-in for Orientation will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. in the lobby of 700 Albany Street, Boston, MA 02118. All M.S. in Medical Sciences students will check in at the 670 Albany Street lobby. During check-in, please feel free to visit the different departments presenting at the resource fair and enjoy a light continental breakfast. Orientation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the 670 Albany Street auditorium; please be sure to check-in before this time.

Please review your pre-registered courses via the Student Link. Please note that pre-registered courses are tentative and you will be able to finalize your courses during orientation after meeting with your advisor.

Information to set up your BU email address and Kerberos password was emailed to you by the GMS Registrar, Ms. Millie Agosto. Please contact Ms. Agosto at millie@bu.edu with any questions regarding setting up your BU email address and Kerberos password, which are needed to access the Student Link.

Prior to Orientation, please review the attached Student Academic Standards and complete the attached GMS Academic Conduct Code. After reading the Academic Conduct Code, please print out and sign the last page of the Code, which will be collected during check-in at Orientation.

All incoming students are required to submit a final transcript, degree certificate, or other official documents showing all previous degrees conferred. If you have not already submitted the required documents, please do so immediately. If your degree will be conferred in May or September 2017, please submit all required documentation no later than October 15, 2017 to the following address:

All required documents may also be submitted in a sealed (official) envelope to Kayleigh Gustafson on the day of Orientation.

TransComm Information and semester pass deadline: August 10, 2017.

Please contact the GMS Financial Aid Coordinator, Ms. Sherill Ashe, at sashe@bu.edu if you have not received your Fall 2017 tuition bill. You can also view your bill through the Student Link.  Please update your mailing address in Student Link to ensure your bill is sent to the correct address. If you have made alternative plans and will not be attending Boston University this Fall, please email Kayleigh Gustafson kay416@bu.edu as soon as possible, but no later than September 1, 2017, to avoid tuition charges.
