Wanda Turner, BS

20150729_092147Wanda Turner is the Senior Patient Navigator for the Avon Breast program working with undeserved populations at Boston Medical Center. The majority of her time is spent in the Belkin Breast Health clinic engaging women in care.  Ms. Turner is one of the pioneers in the development and implementation of standardized protocols for patient navigator programs and was instrumental in the development of the Patient Navigation Toolkit which was released at the Avon Foundation Annual Forum in March 2012.  During her tenure at Boston Medical Center, Ms Turner has worked with the NCI funded patient navigation program and was a featured speaker at the Center to Reduce Health Care Disparities annual health disparities conference in Bethesda Maryland. Ms Turner earned her B.S. from Springfield College in Human Services and was recently given a leadership award by the Massachusetts Association Community Health Workers for her commitment and dedication to working with the undeserved.
