Women’s Health Unit (WHU)
The Women’s Health Unit, directed by Dr. Tracy Battaglia, continues to be a national leader in medical care, medical education, community outreach and research in women’s health. For seven years, the WHU has received the designation as a National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health from the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Women’s Health Unit of the Section of General Internal Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center is an academic unit addressing all aspects of women’s health through clinical care, medical education, research, faculty development and community outreach. Since 1997, we have been designated a National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the Department of Health and Human Services. Our Unit includes the following core programs:
- Boston University Women’s Health Group – The clinical practice of the Unit, providing multi-disciplinary primary care, preventive care, mental health care and breast health care.
- Boston University Women’s Health Interdisciplinary Research Center – The Women’s Health Unit is part of the larger interdisciplinary research center in women’s health across the BU medical campus
