Housing
| Residents in the Surgical Residency Program live in a number of communities in the Greater Boston area. Although housing is fairly expensive within the city itself, rent of apartments in many of the suburbs is reasonable. | |
| The House Officers Association prepares information about the neighborhoods and transportation most accessible to the core hospitals, and maintains a list of apartments and houses that will be vacated by current house officers in June. This list is available to new residents in late April. This information can be obtained from the Office of Surgical Education by residents accepted into the Program. |

Due to the distances between hospitals participating in the Program, a car is a necessity. With the exception of Cape Cod Hospital, which provides housing for residents during their rotations, the hospitals provide on-call rooms only. |
