TIMS-ExD project funded by NIH.
The NIH/NIGMS will fund the development of a TIMS-ExD MS/MS method for characterization of isomeric glycans via a two-year R21 grant starting on Sept. 1st, 2016. The aims include the implementation of an ion-gating scheme to improve the performance of TIMS by extending its m/z operating range and reducing ion heating during mobility analysis, and the application of the TIMS-ExD method for detailed structural characterization of glycans, including isomers. The identified structures with their CCS values will be deposited into a public database.
