Winning the few grants for medical education is a challenge, but there are some that may fit your interests. Here are some to consider:
- Faculty Development Grant from the Department of Medicine Boston University School of Medicine Department of Medicine offers Faculty Development Grants for faculty. The deadline for the application is October 15, 2009.
- 2008-2009 Fulbright Scholar awards for lecturing, research or combined lecturing/research awards in medical sciences. Faculty and professionals in medical sciences may apply not only for awards specifically in their field, but also for one of the many “All Discipline” awards open to any field.
- Edward J. Stemmler, MD, Medical Education Research Fund of the NBME The goal of the Stemmler Fund is to provide support for research or development of innovative assessment approaches that will enhance the evaluation of those preparing to, or continuing to, practice medicine. Expected outcomes include advances in the theory, knowledge, or practice of assessment at any point along the continuum of medical education, from undergraduate and graduate education and training, through practice. Pilot and more comprehensive projects are both of interest. Collaborative investigations within or among institutions are eligible, particularly as they strengthen the likelihood of the project’s contribution and success.

- Instructional Technology Grant Program (ITGP are small grants (typically $10,000)to faculty interested in using technology in teaching
