Faculty Development Grant application

  • Give a succinct 2-3 sentence summary of the proposed faculty development opportunity.
  • Summarize the main features of the educational program and show evidence of its quality. How will the training opportunity benefit your short-term and long-term career goals? How will it benefit your section or department?

  • What are your career goals over the next 12 months?
  • What are your career goals over the next 3 to 5 years?
  • Who do you mentor? Who mentors you? What mentoring plan do you have in place to help you apply the lessons of the program? How will you share your insights with peers and trainees?
  • Cost breakdown by element – course fee, materials, travel, lodging, etc.
  • What financial support will the section provide(typically ½ of the cost)? Will the funds come from the usual discretionary allowance or from additional sources? How will the faculty and their training benefit the section? What support will early career faculty receive upon returning from the training? How will mid-career and senior faculty contribute to the education of trainees?
