Faculty Development Grant application

Please submit your CV and letter of support as Word or PDF documents. If you prefer, your recommender may upload the letter of support separately through this site. You may want to prepare your answers in a word processing software, proofread, and then transfer to the text boxes below.

  • Give a succinct 2-3 sentence summary of the proposed faculty development opportunity.
  • Summarize the main features of the educational program and show evidence of its quality. How will the training opportunity benefit your short-term and long-term career goals? How will it benefit your section or department?
  • How will you implement the lessons learned during the program? Do you agree to complete a debriefing form to include on the Faculty Development and Diversity website? See: http://www.bumc.bu.edu/facdev-medicine/files/2010/05/DOM-Faculty-Development-Opportunity-Debrief.doc
  • What mentoring plan do you have in place to help you apply the lessons of the program? How will you share your insights with peers and trainees?
  • Cost breakdown by element – course fee, materials, travel, lodging, etc.
  • What financial support will the section provide(typically ½ of the cost)? Will the funds come from the usual discretionary allowance or from additional sources? How will the faculty and their training benefit the section? What support will early career faculty receive upon returning from the training? How will mid-career and senior faculty contribute to the education of trainees?
