New Investigator Grant

Due Date Month: September
Purpose: The Scleroderma Foundation seeks applications from promising new investigators who hold faculty or equivalent positions and who wish to pursue a career in research related to scleroderma. This grant supports promising research that is likely to lead to individual research project grants.
Eligibility Criteria: Applications may be submitted by domestic non-profit organizations, public and private such as universities, colleges, hospitals and laboratories. Foreign organizations and institutions are not eligible. These new investigator grants may not be used to support thesis or dissertation research or fellowship training. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Medicine, Osteopathy, Veterinary Medicine or one of the sciences; and must have completed a postdoctoral fellowship by the grant award date. Applicants who have been a principal investigator on grants from the Scleroderma Foundation or other national, private or government agencies other than fellowship grants are not eligible for this award.

Established Investigator Grant 

Due Date Month: September 
Purpose: The Scleroderma Foundation seeks applications from promising established investigators both inside and outside the field of scleroderma research who wish to propose pilot studies to obtain preliminary data dealing with a highly innovative and/or highly relevant theme related to the disease. This grant will support pilot research that is likely to lead to more substantial unlimited research project grants from federal or non-federal sources
Eligibility Criteria: Applications may be submitted by domestic non-profit organizations, public and private such as universities, colleges, hospitals and laboratories. Foreign organizations and institutions are eligible. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in Medicine, Osteopathy, Veterinary Medicine or one of the sciences; must have completed a postdoctoral fellowship; and have been principal investigator on grants from the Scleroderma Foundation or other national, private or government agencies in the past.

Rheumatology Research Foundation

Innovative Research Award

Due Date Month: July
Purpose: Supporting innovative research ideas is essential to better understanding rheumatic diseases, their cause and the best way to treat them. The Innovative Research Award provides independent academic investigators with the funding they need to pursue ideas that could lead to important breakthroughs in discovering new treatments and, one day, a cure. This award provides essential support for innovative studies focused on generating new insights into the cause, progression, treatment, and outcomes of rheumatic diseases.
Eligibility Criteria: Be a member of ACR at time of submission, Hold a doctoral-level degree (MD, PHD), have a faculty appointment (Instructor, assist professor) at the institution at the time of application and for the duration of the award, Must exhibit evidence of research independence, scientific productivity and career accomplishments, be able to devote a min of 20% full-time professional research effort to this project, meet citizenship requirements outlined in Awards and Grant policies .

Investigator Award

Due Date Month: July
Purpose: Encourage junior investigators in the period between completing post-doctoral fellowship training; while being competitive for more significant funding and establishing themselves as independent investigators
Eligibility Criteria: Be a member of ACR at time of submission, Hold a doctoral-level degree (MD, PHD), have a faculty appointment (Instructor, assist professor) at the institution at the time of application and for the duration of the award, Must exhibit evidence of research independence, scientific productivity and career accomplishments, be able to devote a min of 75% full-time professional research effort to this project, former or current PIs of research grants K level or higher are not eligible to apply, must meet citizenship requirements outlined in Awards and Grant policies.
