Objectives
- Summarize the three core elements of a medical-legal partnership: direct service, institutional change and systemic change.
- Describe how to build a program with a local legal services agency that addresses patient health through the three core elements.
- Develop practical strategies for individual MLP program evaluation as well as opportunities to sync program evaluation with healthcare reform.
- Identify strategies for incorporating legal needs into medical education and healthcare training.

This activity has been developed with consideration given to the American Board of Medical Specialties Six Core Competencies. This activity will increase your competency in the areas of Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Systems-Based Practice, and Practice-Based Learning and Improvement.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Boston University School of Medicine and The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Boston University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Substitution/Cancellation Policy
Substitutions may be made at any time without an additional charge. Refunds will be issued for all cancellations received two weeks prior to the start of the conference. Should cancellation occur within the two-week window, a credit will be issued, not a refund. A $50.00 administrative fee will be charged for all refunds and credits. “No shows” are subject to the full course fee. Cancellation/substitution(s) must be made in writing. Refunds or credits will not be issued once the conference has started. This course is subject to change or cancellation.
