The Boston University CME staff sponsors a large number of CME programs for accreditation, including live meetings, journal-based CME, enduring materials, Internet-based CME programs, and performance improvement initiatives. The CME Office staff includes two physicians and eleven administrative staff members, who work with a wide variety of educational partners to sponsor activities.
As per ACCME guidelines, our office must be involved at the initial planning stages of any program, and all promotional materials must be approved in advance by our office. In addition to CME accreditation, we also provide Continuing Nursing Education (CNE), meeting management, and assistance in obtaining accreditations for other healthcare providers.
To ensure adequate time for planning, implementation and oversight, Boston University School of Medicine CME Office requires a minimum of 8 weeks for accreditation of live activities with no commercial support. For live activities with potential commercial support or exhibits, we require a minimum of 16 weeks.
If you are interested in working with us to sponsor an activity for accreditation, please review the appropriate activity planning packet and call our office at (617) 638-4605.
