Summary of research interests: I am a clinician-scientist trained in geriatrics, rheumatology and epidemiology. My long-term goal is to improve the lives of elders with OA. My research focus lies at the intersection of aging and rheumatology. Specifically, I am interested in understanding mechanisms leading to development of age-related joint (osteoarthritis), muscle (sarcopenia) and bone (osteoporosis) impairment.
Research Interests: Mechanisms for muscle loss in elderly, frailty in association with osteoarthritis in elderly, biomarkers for osteoarthritis, pharmacoepidemiology studies in osteoporosis, calcium crystal arthritis and imaging
Special Interests: Geriatric rheumatology, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout/pseudogout, osteoporosis
