Clinical proteomics: A need to define the field and to begin to set adequate standards, is an article appearing in Proteomics Clin Appl 2007: 1:148-156. In this brand new journal, in its first ‘Viewpoint’ article, a group of 26 proteomics researchers from around the world start the discussion of the definition of clinical proteomics, study requirements, pitfalls and (potential) use.
According to Nature Network Boston, a new online forum of Boston-area scientists, Massachusetts is fourth in the nation overall in the number of science doctorates issued in 2005. On a percapita basis, however, Massachusetts ranks second in total, physical science, life science, and engineering degrees, awarded by mostly by MIT, Harvard, BU, Tufts, and Northeastern. The data were reported in the Doctorate Recipients from United States Universities Summary Report 2005 by the University of Chicago-based National Opinion Research Center (NORC) under and NSF contract.
