The primary goal of Medical Humanities is to lead discussions and workshops on fiction, medical essays, and student writing. The humanities has been widely recognized as vital to understanding the narrative nature of medical practice especially in patient encounters. Moreover, our dedication to written work provides a creative avenue for students to explore medicine thereby developing new tools with which to understand patients, colleagues, and oneself. Medical Humanities works to further the medical education, the health and wellness, and professional development of the BUSM community.
