American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists/ OB/GYN Interest Group (ACOG)

The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), founded in 1951, has over 46,000 members and is the nation’s leading group of professionals providing health care for women. ACOG is dedicated to the advancement of women’s health through education, practice, research, and advocacy.

The Boston University Chobabain & Avedisian School of Medicine Student Chapter of ACOG was founded in January 1999. Since its inception, the Chapter has hosted events such as lectures, lunches, networking events, workshops, and shadowing experiences with the following objectives:

  • to provide students exposure to the field of obstetrics and gynecology
  • to facilitate interaction between students, residents, and faculty in obstetrics and gynecology
  • to advocate for quality health care for women
  • to increase awareness of the changing issues facing women’s health care
