Biography

I was born in Mexico City, and when I was 9 years old, my family emigrated to Santa Monica. I attended University of California Los Angeles, and following my graduation, I spent a year of work/research with the quantitative E.E.G. team focusing on depression and functional M.R.I. I met my wife while doing post graduate work at the University of California San Diego. Seeking further training, I completed a fellowship in advanced obstetrics at Natividad Medical Center and have practiced Family Medicine with operative obstetrics for five years at a federally qualified health center and the county hospital in Salinas, California. In this role I served as a staff physician and clinical instructor to residents, medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

I have seen medicine in different parts of the country and have been blessed with excellent training. My unique training in the rural setting has allowed me to become well versed in full scope Family Medicine. I can cater to the medical needs of newborns to centenarians and with training in advanced obstetrics, I have become proficient in general obstetrics and operative obstetrical care. By understanding the family dynamics and trans-generational beliefs, I can focus the implementation of a treatment plan toward excellent health for all family members.

As a family physician, my philosophy is to treat my patients like my own family members in order to empower them with the understanding of their disease so they can make healthier choices. It is a true joy and honor to take care of families this way because it creates personal connection between the family and physician unlike any other.
