Biography

Manishi Desai, MD is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She specializes in glaucoma. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, IL and then completed her fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, FL (affiliated with the University of Miami). She is board certified ophthalmologist at Boston University affiliated Boston Medical Center. She currently serves as the glaucoma fellowship director as well as director for international education. She has overseen the initiation of collaboration with the Lesotho Boston Health Alliance (LeBoHA) to work toward improving eye care. Research interests look at medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, compliance, improving health care access/operations, and resident education. She looks forward to collaborating with innovative approaches to improve patient care and compliance.
