Biography

Research focuses on the functional neuroanatomy of the basal ganglia and the neurobiological basis of motor control, sensorimotor integration and learning. We are particularly interested in the mechanisms of regulation of GABAergic neurons in the basal ganglia of normal animals and experimental models of Parkinson’s disease. Experimental approaches include analysis of protein/peptide expression by quantitative in situ hybridization histochemistry, immunohistochemistry and Western-blotting and analysis of behavioral activity.
