Biography

Dr. Landesman’s research has focused on studying the role of protein kinase CK2, a highly conserved and constitutively expressed serine-threonine kinase. In vitro and transgenic mouse models were used to study the role of CK2 in breast tumorigenesis and the synergism of CK2 with the absence of p53 in lymphoma development. Genetic disruption of the catalytic subunits of CK2: CK2a and CK2a’ have uncovered the impact of CK2 in mouse embryonic development. Current research attempts to characterize the consequences of compounded reduction of CK2 catalytic subunits in mice. Dr. Landesman-Bollag obtained her PhD and did her postdoctoral training at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine in the laboratory of the late Dr. David Seldin. She is Instructor of Hematology & Medical Oncology at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine.
