Megan Mariani Named November’s Distinguished Staff of the Month

The Dean’s Office is pleased to announce that Megan Mariani has been named Distinguished Staff of the Month for November.

A member of the BUSM community since 2016, Ms. Mariani is project manager for the DIAGNOSE CTE Research Project in the BU Alzheimer’s Disease and CTE Centers. In her role, Megan collaborates with principal investigators at four different study sites and co-investigators nationwide. She communicates regularly with all study teams to coordinate activities, monitor deadlines, and ensure project success.

Her nominators say, “If an issue arises, Megan is the first to tackle it and come up with a solution. Especially now that COVID-19 threatens many of the study protocols we have in place, Megan must communicate and problem solve with a variety of individuals and our participants to ensure that the study is being run safely and effectively. Megan maintains a level of professionalism that many individuals with more experience seek to develop.”

“On top of managing a multi-million dollar research project with multiple study sites, Megan finds time to get involved and assist with a number of other projects. She is working with our clinical trials team as they go through a transition period of staffing and new trials. She also has organized a Crisis Management and Suicidality Training for the Center that will enable us to communicate more effectively with our research participants in need. Megan also assists in the hiring and onboarding of new employees, office management, and boosts team morale when times are tough.”

“Everyone in the office knows they can always count on Megan.”

Congratulations!
