14 BUSM, BMC PIs Exceed $2.5M in Research Grant Funding for CY2019 Research

In a broad range of subject areas including microbiology, cardiology, pulmonology, computational medicine, neurology, infectious diseases, general internal medicine, anatomy & neurobiology, genetics and pharmacology, 14 BUSM and BMC principal investigators – including three assistant professors – garnered more than $2.5M in funding spent for research projects in calendar year 2019.

“We are very proud of our faculty who attract substantial federal, state and industry funding for their outstanding research at the medical school and hospital”, said BUSM Dean Karen Antman, MD.

“I want to congratulate our principal investigators for their exceptional research contributions and achievements in attracting such high levels of funding to drive their important work forward,” said Kate Walsh, president and CEO of Boston Medical Center Health System.  “Research is a key part of our academic mission to help people live longer, healthier lives, particularly those who are traditionally underserved by medicine or who are negatively impacted by health disparities.”
