BUSM Graduate Devastated by ALS, Trying to Save Others

A year and a half ago, BUSM graduate Dr. Rahul Desikan’s future seemed boundless. His work at BU led to the use of the Desikan-Killiany atlas by researchers around the world to study various portions of the brain on MRI. He had just begun the biggest study ever of the genetics of ALS, the disease made famous by Lou Gehrig and Stephen Hawking. Then he was diagnosed with ALS.
