CME Recognized by ANCC as Top 10 Percent

The BUSM Continuing Nursing Education Provider Unit of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) office has been awarded “Accreditation with Distinction” by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  Only the top 10 percent of programs receive this designation.  This honor for continuing nursing education is for four years, from June 27, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2020 and adds to BUSM’s national reputation of promoting team-based care.

“We are extremely proud of the work we do educating the entire healthcare team,” said Assistant Dean Continuing Medical Education Daniel P. Alford, MD, MPH, who also serves as associate professor of medicine. “Our achievement of Accreditation with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation is reserved for a very small group of top-tiered continuing education providers.”

The ANCC, a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA), promotes excellence in nursing and health care globally through credentialing programs. The ANA represents the interests of the nation’s 3.6 million registered nurses.
