Rizzo, Majnoun Named Assistant Deans

Anthony Rizzo has been named Assistant Dean for Financial and Administrative Operations and Fredric Majnoun has been named Assistant Dean for Research Administration and Finance at the School of Medicine effective April 1.

Tony will be responsible for all BUSM administration, including budgeting, planning, billing and operations. He will provide financial and management support and strategic leadership for the School as well as manage Continuing Medical Education, the Office of Development and the Genome Science Institute finances.

Fredric will be responsible for all BUSM research administration and department finances including oversight of the Offices of Financial and Grants Administration and Proposal Development. He will review and update department and research administration standard policies and operating procedures.

Tony joined BU in 1994, serving as Buyer & Inventory Control Manager and Manager of Finance in the Office of Information Technology, before moving to the BUSM in 2009 as Manager for Financial Operations. Most recently he served as Director and Associate Dean ad interim for Financial Operations. Tony received his BS, summa cum laude, in business management studies from BU and is completing coursework for his master’s degree in administrative studies/financial economics, also from BU.

Fredric joined BU in 2001 as Senior Accounts Technician in the Finance Department of the Division of Extended Education,  Budget Analyst in the BU Office of the Budget, Director of Finance and Administration for the Department of Medicine Arthritis Center and Rheumatology Section and most recently as Director of the Office of Financial and Grant Administration. Frederic received his BS in business economics from Azad University in Iran and his master’s degree in administrative studies/financial economics from BU.
