Jan. 11 Deadline: BU Cancer Center Call for Membership

The Boston University Cancer Center is reorganizing its research and patient care programs to transform cancer management through discovery of innovative and personalized approaches for cancer prevention, detection and treatment.

Inherent in our mission is the focus on understanding the molecular events associated with cancer initiation and progression in our diverse patient population and directly translating these findings into more effective prevention and treatment. The Cancer Center is focused on fostering multidisciplinary collaborations among our outstanding cancer research faculty and trainees in the clinical, laboratory and population sciences.

Cancer Center members are expected to:

  • Work as members of an interdisciplinary team within cancer research programs.
  • Actively participation in Cancer Center activities (e.g. cancer seminar series, retreats and research symposiums).

Active members will have access to:

  • Pilot funding programs
  • Subsidies to support use of Cancer Center related core facilities
  • Opportunities to present their research and participate at center–organized activities (e.g. research symposiums, cancer seminar series, retreats)

Criteria for membership are the applicants’:

  • Cancer-related funding
  • Recent cancer-related publications
  • Research interests align with the Center’s initiatives.

Applicants should send a short cover letter describing their interest in center membership and an up-to-date CV or biosketch that clearly lists current and pending grant support to Jessica Vick (jlvick@bu.edu), by Monday Jan. 11, 2016.
