Michael Klein Receives Award for Physician Excellence

Michael Klein, MD, a clinical professor of medicine at BUSM and an attending cardiologist and Director of the BMC Electrocardiology Laboratory, is the recipient of the 2015 Jerome Klein Award for Physician Excellence. The award, established in 2010 to commemorate Jerome Klein’s 50 years of service to BMC/BUSM, is presented annually to a physician who mirrors Jerome Klein’s commitment and service as a mentor, leader, teacher, researcher and clinician.

“Within cardiology Mike has for over 40 years been a role model and teacher to generations of cardiology fellows and medical residents who have learned from him at the bedside or in the EKG lab,” said Wilson Colucci, MD, Chief of Cardiology, in his nomination of Klein for the award. “His contributions to the cardiology literature are among the cornerstones of our practice. In short, Mike is both a local resource and a national treasure.”
