Research Interests:
MOLECULAR REGULATION OF PATHWAYS CONTRIBUTING TO THROMBOSIS AND VASCULAR DISEASE, AND THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROMES.
Coronary artery plaque rupture leads to platelet-dependent thrombosis and myocardial infarction. The major research initiatives in our laboratory include an emphasis in the molecular regulation of pathways contributing to thrombosis, vascular disease, and how these factors contribute to acute coronary syndromes. The main topics include: platelet signaling pathways, molecular regulation of platelet nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species, and the role of inflammation in thrombosis.
