Announcements:

  • Jessica (Allen) Ritter, PhD Candidate, Genco Lab, presented a poster at XIXth International Pathogenic Neisseria Conference October 12th-17th in Asheville, NC. The poster is entitled; “Neisseria gonorroheae modulates immune cell survival through pyroptosis.” Authors are Jessica Ritter, Kathleen Goodmon, and Caroline Genco.
  • Evan Chiswick, PhD, Remick Lab  was selected to give a talk at this year’s Society of Leukocyte Biology & The International Endotoxin and Innate Immunity Society, October 23rd-25th in Salt Lake City, Utah.  also received a travel award. The title of his talk was “Acute Phase Deaths from Polymicrobial Sepsis are Characterized by Suppression, but Not Exhaustion, of Innate Immunity” Evan also received a Travel Award, bravo!
  • Daniel Remick, M.D., served as the program chair for the 2014 joint meeting of the Society for Leukocyte Biology and the International Endotoxin and Innate Immunity Society. The meeting had nearly 250 participants from across the world and was held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
