Boston University Active Directory
Boston University Active Directory
It is the goal of the BUMC Office of Information Technology (OIT) to provide the best quality service possible by leveraging the latest technologies. It is for this reason that we are joining Boston University’s Enterprise-level Active Directory (AD) service. Active Directory is a powerful directory structure that will make managing our complex, growing network far more efficient by allowing a high degree of flexibility and by providing a backbone to deploy directory-enabled applications such as Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003 and Microsoft’s Software Update Service. This University-wide infrasturcture service yields a more scalable, flexible, extendable, and secure authentication and authorization service.
