Element K at Boston University Medical Campus

We are pleased to announce that the web-based training initiative for Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) employees has been renewed. BUMC employees may sign up for an account to access Office Productivity and Design Media courses. Enroll soon to experience Element K courses, a leading partner in web based training that enables access to a multitude of training programs. These accounts are centrally funded by the Office of Financial & Business Affairs and are supported and managed by the Office of Information Technology.

• OP/DM= Office Productivity & Design Media training - Silver (includes Desktop and Design and Media classes) without books 24 X 7. This is our most popular library with courses on Outlook, Windows XP, MAC, MS Office, HTML, and many more - over 600 courses. • CP = Computer Professional training - Gold add-on over 800 courses, includes full A+ Certification, Networking, and Windows Server classes with books 24 X 7. • BF= Business Fundamentals NEW - Silver add-on : (formerly BPS) includes interactive courses on how to give effective presentations, how to run a meeting, time management, managing employees, and more. Add-on Ordering Information:
The Add-ons are for one year and expire July, 2010. Due to the Boston Consortium’s partnership with Element K, pricing information must be kept on a page restricted only to members of the Boston Consortium. Please see below for the pricing link. Follow the steps below to obtain an Element K account add-on: (please note these steps are only for CP and BPS, see bottom for page for directions on obtaining OP/DM)

1. Review the pricing and subscription pool add-ons
2. Determine which staff will be given the add-ons
3. Email us with department name, staff name, University ID#, phone number, email address and name of subscription pool and price - if you are ordering several, please put this information in a spreadsheet
4. Send the requisition to OIT A312 ATTN: Element K or fax to 8-6498 and email the spreadsheet to bumcek at bu.edu remember that OIT prefers one contact person per department

• physically located on the Medical Campus
• using BU dial-up (if you are using a phone modem)
