Installation of a New Computer

A service representative from the Boston University Medical Campus Office of Information Technology will respond to your request within three business days. Having your computer and software shipped directly to our Help Desk (801 Massachusetts Ave. Ste 485, Boston, MA 02118), allows us to get your new computer back to you faster.

All new computers require a $100 new computer setup fee. This includes OIT staff unpacking the computer for you, installing updates, free software, printers, and transferring needed data to the new computer. Other charges may include: a $25 Client Access License (CAL) for access to the “Y” drive and/or Outlook/Exchange Server; $200 annual service contract with BUMC OIT. Users will want to purchase Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise from the IT Help Center. Please note BUMC OIT no longer sells Microsoft Office.
