Getting a Website
Getting a Website
Establishing and maintaining a web presence is an essential tool for effectively communicating in today’s world. To start the process, select one of the following links.
- BUMC Web Resources This link leads to an on-line request form for requesting space on the Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) web server (http://www.bumc.bu.edu). Space on the BUMC web server is available to departments, offices, centers, institutes, programs, projects, and laboratories affiliated with the Medical Campus for disseminating research, academic, and administrative information.
- BlackBoard 8 Instructional websites can be developed on the BlackBoard 8 server (http://blackboard.bu.edu) and are available to the entire Boston University (BU) community. Please note that a BU user name and Kerberos password are required both to set up a BlackBoard 8 site and also to access (ie log into) a BlackBoard 8 site. The CourseInfo server, which runs version 4, will eventually no longer be available. Anyone creating a new instructional site is encouraged to set up one in BlackBoard 8 (and not in CourseInfo 4).
- Personal and Student Groups This link leads to the official web server dedicated to hosting websites for individuals (faculty, staff, and students) as well as for student groups. Please note that a BU user name and Kerberos password are required to set up and update a site on this server.
