Mac OS X Snow Leopard
On August 28, 2009, Apple released the latest version of its operating system Snow Leopard. One new feature, enhanced support of Microsoft Exchange, requires Exchange Sever 2007; however, the BUMC server is running Exchange Server 2003. As a result, if you are using a Mac, you should continue to use Microsoft Entourage to check your BUMC Outlook/Exchange e-mail. We are actively taking steps to prepare for the introduction of Exchange Server 2007 later this calendar year.
In addition, our Cisco VPN client is currently NOT compatible with Snow Leopard. You can set up built-in VPN to use instead of the Cisco client. If you are using wireless on campus, you should consider switching to 802.1x, a new way to connect to wireless at BUMC that does not require VPN.
