Energy Reduction Initiative

Initiative

The intent of this initiative is to retrofit certain equipment in a manner that meets a prescriptive program offered by NStar. This will allow us to recognize rebates, annual cost savings and reduce our carbon footprint.

Energy Reduction/ Utility Savings

Estimated carbon dioxide reduction per year is 68.15 tons. Reduction relates to E-Bldg AHU 1, G-Bldg AHU 3, 4 and G exhaust fans 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Annual KWH savings: 243,215

Projects Detail

E-Building (AHU 1)

Remove the existing 40HP motor.

Furnish and install a 40HP inverter duty and high efficiency motor.

Furnish and install a 40HP inverter.

Replace fan belts.

Provide new Siemens controls.

Log the starting and finishing RPM, Pressure and CFM.

G-Building Air Handler 3 and 4

Remove the existing 50HP motor.

Furnish and install a 50HP inverter duty and high efficiency motor.

Furnish and install a 50HP inverter.

Replace fan belts.

Provide new Siemens controls.

Log the starting and finishing RPM, Pressure and CFM.

G-Building Exhaust Fans 1, 2, 3 and 4

Remove the two existing 10HP, and two existing 5HP motor.

Furnish and install new inverter duty and high efficiency motors.

Furnish and install two 10HP and two 5HP inverters.

Furnish and install four incoming line reactors.

Replace fan belts.

Provide new Siemens controls.

Log the starting and finishing RPM, Pressure and CFM.

Electrical Projects

Supply and install dual technology switches in bathrooms; 60 locations.

Supply and install ceiling mounted extended range occupancy sensors and power packs for elevator lobby lights; 23.

Supply and install multiple extended range occupancy sensors and power packs for hallways; 30 hallways.

Supply and install one day/ night sensor with power pack for X-bldg bridge.

W-Building- Lobby and exterior lights-Remove existing lamps and ballast in existing recessed down lights-Replace with new 12 watt LED lights with 50,000 hour lifetime

G-Building installed 94 dual technology wall switches, 105 ceiling mounted extended range occupancy sensors
