An Actuarial Model for School Safety
On August 17th, Boston University Healthcare Emergency Management Program, in conjunction with Tufts Medical Center, hosted a one-day conference on school and community resiliency. Panelist and audience members were from school administration, insurance, public health, public safety, state and local government, emergency management and academics.
In addition to producing significant relationships among the above sectors, this conference began discussions on the creation of a model where school systems can receive insurance premium reductions for exemplary emergency preparedness plans.
