Computer Requirements
Due to the advanced nature of our Virtual Classroom, a Macintosh laptop is recommended for best results. Second choice is any recent model laptop or desktop with webcam (built-in or attached).
Also, due to the nature of multi-session web conferencing, we require the use of headphones to reduce the incidence of feedback through the computer speakers. For an optimal experience a headset with an integrated noise-canceling microphone is recommended, but not required.
It is also crucial that our students have a reliable internet connection. We recommend DSL or faster and a Wired (Ethernet) connection is preferred for best results, although wireless is usually sufficient.
Note that we do not currently support the use of Atom-based netbooks, Windows 8 or Chromebooks. If you are purchasing a new Windows-based computer we strongly recommend that you purchase a downgrade license for Windows 7. The major PC manufacturers still offer computers with Windows 7 pre-installed as an option on their websites.
