Volunteer Opportunity- Burlington, Ma Flu Exercise

BURLINGTON

The Board of Health is seeking new members for its Burlington Medical Reserve Corps, a group of volunteers that assists during public health emergencies, disasters, and community service activities. Participants need not be medical professionals. Among the corps’ annual events is a combined full-scale pandemic flu response exercise and flu clinic, scheduled this year for Nov. 14. Corps volunteers will provide the public with free flu shots, using procedures they would employ to inoculate people in an actual emergency. For more information, go to www.burlington.org/boh, call 781-270-1955, or attend a recruitment meeting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the senior center. – John Laidler
