Biochemistry Retreat 2012

The Biochemistry Department went on a 2 day retreat on October 18th and 19th at the Wachusett Village Inn. Please see photos

Congratulations also go out to the winners in the Best Poster competition. All retreat attendees voted for their favorite posters in three category. Ballots were tallied then burned in the fire pit before any ballots with hanging chads could be contested.

We want to take the opportunity to congratulate the winners of the Henry I. Russek Student Achievement Day 2012 for the Department of Biochemistry. An honorable mention will be awarded to Erika Ebbel-Angle who is a student in Dr. Costello’s lab, the second prize award will go to Ed Randles who is a student in Dr. Bergethon’s lab and the first prize will be awarded to Johann Bergholz who is a student in Dr. Xiao’s lab . Our congratulations go out to all the winners as well as their advisors!

Congratulations to Celeste Rich who has been awarded a 2012 Perkins Distinguished Service Award. These awards are presented annually by the Faculty Council to three members of the Boston University family in recognition of distinguished service to the University. Celeste was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the research mission of the Biochemistry Department and the University at large. It is a well-deserved honor for a wonderful person!
