Joe graduated from Ithaca College in 2009 with a degree in Biochemistry. He started his Ph.D. as a student in the program in Cellular/Molecular Biology and joined the Anatomy & Neurobiology department after joining the lab of Tarik Haydar, Ph. D. Joe’s research in the Haydar lab focuses on studying brain development in mouse models of Down syndrome (DS). Currently, he is investigating a new mouse model, the Ts1YEY. His main interest is comparing brain development in Ts1YEY animals to the commonly used mouse model of DS, the Ts65Dn.
