Employees in essential services should report as scheduled. Essential services include, but are not limited to Public Safety, Facilities Management, Emergency Patient Treatment, Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and Mail Service. Medical, PA and GMS students who are assigned to inpatient services or clinics are expected to be present, if possible. Dodgeball Tournament

On Wednesday, October 13, 2010, the Academies of Advisors Program at the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) held its first annual Dodgeball Tournament.  The Rebecca Lee Crumpler Academy won this inaugural event, defeating the Louis W. Sullivan Academy 3 games to 2 in the final round of play.

This year’s breakfast address, “ObamaCare: Ignore All Predictions,” focused on Health Law.

Our guest speaker was Wendy Mariner, Edward R. Utley Professor of Health Law, Bioethics & Human Rights in the Department of Health Law, Bioethics & Human Rights, at the Boston University School of Public Health. She is also a Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law and a Professor of Socio-Medical Sciences and Community Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.  She is currently a member of the Massachusetts Health Care Quality and Cost Council Advisory Committee, charged with implementing the Commonwealth’s health reform legislation, the Massachusetts Public Health Association Board of Directors, and is a founding member of the New England Coalition for Law and Public Health. We were proud to welcome Professor Mariner to our Ethics Breakfast.
